Rockbourne tea estate and bungalow was a part of the Pupuressa tea estate which started during the 1870s, parallel to the era where Jame’s Taylor introduced tea plantation in Ceylon. It is only about 15km to Loolekandura estate where the first tea plantation and bungalow is located. Pupuressa tea estate was first owned by Sir Thomas Lipton.The bungalow is only 20km from the Kandy Royal Botanical Gardens and includes a scenic drive through the University of Peradeniya.

The bungalow is now refurbished into a boutique villa at an elevation of 3500ft above sea level that reserves it’s colonial atmosphere and brings you to a paradise amongst the mountains.
